Dryer Vent Line Tips!

Dryers. A staple appliance in every home to help us in our journey to clean clothes. Some are Digital control / Analog mechanical timer style controls, Some are 240V Electric / Natural Gas or Propane fired, and Some are vintage, and Some are barely 6 months old. This brand, that brand, every brand. Little ones, regular sized ones, and "oh yes, all my laundry is getting done in one load" ones too! The one thing they all have in common is they all produce lint. Lots of lint... I'm talking roller bearing wrecking, heater core destroying, fuse tripping, the hot fire hazard type lint.
Pro tip!
Use hot soapy water in the kitchen sink with an old toothbrush twice a month to keep the wax from the wax softening dryer sheets from gunking up your lint filter! Not the Dishwasher!!! Yes a little bit of elbow grease! Now we're talking! Clean the exhaust line yearly and keep that flapper door on the outside of your house a-flappin freely! If you have pets, clean the line twice a year!
Clean the ducts and filters that allow all that hot humid air get out of your clothes faster, resulting in lower utility bills, faster dry time, and far fewer repair visits from your friendly local repair guy! We don’t do this service, but there are many furnace duct cleaning companies that do. They usually have a big vacuum truck.
The real reason I share this info, is that I never want the local fire truck to show up because the dryer caught fire!
